Located in Melbourne’s beautiful Yarra Valley Yarra Ranges Kinders is community run and locally managed, ensuring that each kinder’s own personality and values are upheld in the care they provide. We’re dedicated to providing quality early childhood access and giving every family the best educational start possible.

Do you have expertise in governance, financial management, legal, human resources, operational leadership, IT, strategy, or compliance?

Or perhaps you bring board experience, strong community engagement, and leadership in enterprise policy and values?

If you possess any, or some of, the above skill sets, we invite you to join the Board of a dynamic, not-for-profit Early Years Manager (EYM) that delivers high-quality sessional kindergarten programs, tailored to the unique needs of our communities.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR We seek individuals with proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: Strategic Governance & Leadership • Experience in early years education frameworks, risk management, and compliance (ACNC knowledge is a plus). Legal & Compliance • Understanding of contracts, regulatory requirements, and child-related legislation. Human Resources & Organisational Culture • Workforce development, employee relations, and fostering a positive organisational culture. Operational Leadership • Managing programs, facilities, and service delivery effectively and sustainably. Information Technology • IT governance, data security, decision support, and digital strategy. Financial Management & Commercial Success • Budgeting, financial planning, compliance, reporting, and audit oversight. Board & Community Engagement • Understanding of board processes, governance responsibilities, and engagement with key stakeholders (including parents, community groups, and local/state government).

COMMITMENT & EXPECTATIONS • Volunteer position(unpaid). • Quarterly board meetings, with occasional subcommittee or community event participation.
